But First Off, Why Aim for EARNED Traffic vs. Paid Traffic Anyway?

Well, earned traffic is just plain better than paid traffic.

Because in nearly every instance, earned traffic is more likely to convert than paid traffic.

Part of that has to do with the fact that a high search engine result for your website brings in more clicks than advertisements… like a lot more clicks.

Check it out.

Organic-vs-paid

Using data from 40 million searches, Sparktoro and Jumpshot found that organic links get clicked over 10X more than ads.

And as long as you’ve created a landing page that converts to direct those potential leads to, then that can translate into 10X more sales

Now let’s start jumping up your traffic, by jumping in to strategy #1 for beginners.

Strategies for Beginners:

Here are 12 strategies for beginners to follow to increase your website traffic...

Strategy #1 to Grow Traffic: Publish Quality Content on a Regular Basis (No Cheat Days!)

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Consistency is key when it comes to publishing content and it's a super simple way to grow traffic with your existing email list.

Part of that is because when you have a loyal audience of followers, they want to know when your next piece of awesome content is coming out.

Publishing, say, every day like we do helps ingrain your content into people’s routines.

And the more a part of their lives you become, the more likely they are to click on to your page and over to your checkout page.

In fact, a study from McKinsey found that the correlation between publishing consistency and customer satisfaction is incredibly strong.

Have a look.

Consistency

Start by dedicating yourself to a regular schedule.

Twice a month, once a week, once per day—do whatever you can afford.

But the most important thing is to be consistent

And once you get really good, you can up your schedule and start posting more and more just like we do.

Strategy #2 to Grow Traffic: Focus on Writing Better Quality (Highly-Clickable) Titles & Introductions on Your Blog Articles

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Titles and introductions are two of the most important parts of your content.

It’s the first impression, the hook, the razzle dazzle—and if either aren’t enough to capture your visitor’s attention, your article is bound to be a dud no matter how great the content is.

Plus, when you know how to create a blog post template and how to write blog post titles our brains hard-wired to click with our tips to write headlines that boost traffic, it can lead to serious converting power.

Including numbers in your title, for instance, is just one way to increase the clickability of your titles.

In fact, research by Conductor shows that blog titles with numbers in it are readers’ favorites (by 36%).

2020-09-07_14-57-23Source

And one of the 313 cases analyzed in our Proven Sales Conversion Pack even found that including specific numbers rather than generalized ones led to a whopping 139.76% increase in opt-ins!

One thing that we started doing is spending more time tweaking and refining each and every article’s header image and introduction.

And we even brainstorm a whopping 20 different title ideas for every post we make.

And after that, we select our 4 favorites and even A/B test each in order to determine a winner (more on that later).

Ultimately though, the first step is making it part of your process to focus on title brainstorming and tweaking your introductions.

Strategy #3 to Grow Traffic: Send an Engaging & Consistent Newsletter to Promote Your Content

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Newsletters are one of the best ways to drive engagement for your website.

And if you're in our email list, you know what I'm talking about!

Because as any marketer with their salt knows, email marketing has one of the highest ROIs out there (400% return by some estimates).

And when you dedicate yourself to sending out a regular and engaging newsletter, you’re bound to see your numbers start to grow.

Plus, people who read your newsletter are far more likely to engage with your content and even become customers.

The New York Times, for example, found that their subscribers consume 2X as much content and are twice as likely to subscribe to a paid membership.

In fact, I get their daily Morning Briefing every day and always find myself clicking through the stories.

New-York-Times-Newsletter

Clean energy news source Greentech Media found that their newsletter subscribers spend a whopping 80% more time on their site than other visitors.

Long story short, putting together a regular newsletter is a great (and usually cost-free) way to keep your audience engaged with your brand.

Anf if you don't know how to write a killer newsletter, you can reach out to Growbo to delegate your copywriting needs.

We take care of all your digital marketing tasks (including copywriting, content writing, and setting up newsletters in any email automation platform).

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

There are loads of email services out there to help make putting together your newsletter a snap.

We use ActiveCampaign for ours.

And don’t worry, your newsletters don’t have to be anything fancy or ultra time-consuming.

For Growbo, we just use the introduction to our articles along with a CTA to read the full post.

Check it out.

But again, the key is consistency here, and content marketing quantity can increase your traffic, which is why we send our newsletters out every day.

Strategy #4 to Grow Traffic: Find High-Ranking Content Your Competitors Publish (And Then Write a BETTER Version of that)

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

One of the best ways of “copying” your competition and making their content better is what’s known as the “skyscraper technique.”

This technique basically involves putting together chunks of information from various sources into one massive article.

And the technique can have powerful conversion effects.

For instance, Backlinko saw a 110% traffic increase in 14 days using the skyscraper technique.

Backlinko-Skyscraper

But as always, quality is more important than quantity.

So don’t skimp on effort when putting it all together.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Step #1 is analyzing your competition.

What are they writing about?

What kinds of keywords are they targeting?

Who is their audience?

These are all questions you should be asking yourself when analyzing the competition.

And there are plenty of tools to help you get answers to those questions like Google Keyword Planner and SEMRush.

After that, all that’s left is creating the content!

And if you need extra help with this strategy, you should check out our 6-Figure Sales Funnel Training.

In it, I teach you more about the "Rocket Content" formula—a complete, sustainable, turn-key content marketing system for driving targeted traffic.

Strategy #5 to Grow Traffic: Build Your Articles Around Nailing Specific Keywords (High Volume, Low Competition)—But Don’t Get Spammy

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

While search engines have gotten wise to keyword stuffing long, long ago, that doesn’t mean your content shouldn’t be based around certain phrases and search terms.

The trick is doing it in such a way that offers real quality content that people will engage with and not being spammy about using those keywords.

Generally, the better content you put out that focuses on those keywords, the higher you’ll end up in search results.

And the higher you are in search results, the more likely people will be to click over to your website.

For example, Smart Insights found that CTR increased by 184% from position 2 to position 1.

CTR-for-SERP

Source

And with 184% more visitors to your website, you can only imagine how many new customers that’ll bring in.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Focus on finding the sweet spot with your keyword targeting.

High volume keywords are great when you can rank for them.

But in order to do so cost-effectively, there needs to be low competition for those terms too.

So aim for high volume and low competition phrases to get the best results.

Strategy #6 to Grow Traffic: Make Internal Linking a Must for Each & Every Piece of Content You Create

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

As we just saw, getting to the top of search engine results comes with a massive spike in your website traffic.

And one way to boost your rankings is by including plenty of internal links to your website’s pages.

Authority Hacker found that higher SERPs had more internal links, over 50% more from positions 6 vs 1.

Internal-Backlinks

Source

We actually make it standard that each article we write has to contain at least 5 internal links.

It’s one of our top valuable and practical SEO tips for bloggers (see what I did there?).

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Make internal linking a standard that your content writing team follows.

Set a specific number to aim for within each article.

On top of that, try to link to high-traffic pages of yours that tend to bring in a lot of visitors.

Strategy #7 to Grow Traffic: Use a Free CDN (Content Delivery Network) Like Cloudflare to Speed Up Your Website

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

These days, site speed is incredibly important for keeping visitors on your page.

A slow load time is unbearable.

And in fact, every second counts

A Google benchmark study actually found just how much a slow site speed can affect your bounce rates.

Check it out.

Site-Speed-Google

Source

Yeesh.

And one of the best ways to improve your site’s speed is by using a Content Delivery Network or CDN.

A CDN is a network of servers that are geographically spread out around the world.

Storing your website’s assets on this network lets you take the burden of loading those assets off of a single server and spreads it out over multiple ones.

And just like that, your website can end up loading multiple times quicker.

Neat, huh?

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Cloudflare is one of the most popular and best CDNs in our opinion.

It can offer 2X faster loading speeds and doesn’t charge extra for bandwidth spikes.

Give it a look!

Strategy #8 to Grow Traffic: Switch Your Site to HTTPS If You Haven’t Already (And If You Haven’t Yet, Why the Heck Not?)

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Have you ever seen that little lock in the upper left corner next to the web address?

Or have you ever tried to navigate to a page and been confronted with a message like this...

HTTPS

Source

That little lock and that big scary message both indicate whether the site you’re on is secured with HTTPS rather than HTTP.

And man oh man is it important that your site is.

Because many browsers simply don’t let you access sites with an unsecured connection.

Plus, Global Sign found that 84% of users would abandon a purchase over an unsecure connection.

So if your site isn’t HTTPS secured, then you are essentially blocking visitors from accessing your site.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

The good news is that when you use a CDN like Cloudflare, you’re automatically secured.

So I would recommend starting there.

If for some reason you don’t want to use a CDN, Google provides a great guide for making your site secure.

Strategy #9 to Grow Traffic: Optimize All of Your Content for Maximum Share-Ability (Especially for Social Pages)

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

You’re working hard on your content.

You’re researching and putting together awesome articles your audience is going to love.

And you’re giving your all to produce valuable information that not only solves your readers’ problems but also converts them into customers.

So why the heck aren’t you sharing it on social?

All it takes is adding a few social share buttons on each of your blog posts.

Social-Buttons

How much can it help?

A lot

Social media bookmarking service AddThis saw a whopping 400% more shares after adding social buttons to their posts.

How’s that for quick and easy results?

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

This one is simple: just add the social share buttons to your blog post template.

Se how do it at the bottom of each article?

2020-09-08_19-34-10

That’s it!

You’ll want to make sure these buttons are easy to spot though. Otherwise, your readers will gloss right over them.

Strategy #10 to Grow Traffic: Use Medium to Syndicate Your Best-Performing Content

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Medium

Source

Medium is the hot new thing these days.

It’s been described as “twitter for long-form articles” and people really seem to like it. In fact, in 2017 the platform saw 60 million unique visitors. 60 million!

And when you syndicate your articles on their site, you can see some massive gains in your traffic.

For instance, Search Engine Journal started syndicating their content on Medium and saw a 34% spike in page visits.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

One of the best things about Medium is it’s free to use!

Plus, if you qualify for their partnership program, you can actually get paid each time your article is read.

Strategy #11 to Grow Traffic: Guest Post on Other Websites & Platforms Whenever You Can

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Guest posting on other websites is a great way to get your name out there.

If you’re able to post on someone else’s website, you’re basically borrowing their readership and incorporating it into your own.

And if you’ve built up a name for yourself, many websites will happily accept your posts and let you tap into their audience.

Neil Patel points out 3 case studies in particular that demonstrate the traffic boosting effectiveness of guest posting…

  • Gregory Ciotti who used guest posting to build an email list of 36,733 contacts.
  • Jon Cooper who saw a whopping 400 unique visitors hit his page after guest posting on Moz.
  • Brian Harris who built a $15,000 per month business that all started with a single guest post on Okdork.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

The easiest way to land a guest post gig is by finding a site you love (with an audience you’d like to tap into) and then simply reaching out.

Try to come up with a great blog post idea and the types of blog posts you would like to write beforehand and send over a quick pitch.

Be professional, courteous, and always start out with a compliment (“I love your blog!”).

And be sure to link to your past work so they can get an idea of your writing ability.

Simple.

Strategy #12 to Grow Traffic: Standardize Referral Incentive Programs

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

There’s a reason referrals are often considered marketing gold.

That’s because people are way more likely to buy if they’ve been referred to your business by a friend or colleague.

In fact, FrontSpin found that referred business actually converted a whopping 70% of the time.

Referrals

Source

That’s why if you want to bring in more leads that are positioned to buy from you, using a referral program is a fantastic start.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

There are a few ways you can incentivize referrals from past customers.

The first (and cheapest) is by simply asking for referrals.

Just send out a quick email to past customers asking them to mention your business to a friend.

Alternatively, you can offer coupons, access to exclusive content, and more.

Get creative with it!

Strategies for Experts:

Strategy #13 to Grow Traffic: A/B Test Your Title Ideas—Test for Clicks Not Just Opens (We Do this Via Our Newsletters)

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

We do this for every single newsletter we write and send out.

After a rigorous subject line brainstorming session where we come up with 20 different variations, our team picks out the 4 best subject lines and we split test all 4 for our newsletter.

We did it for this newsletter too.

See?

20-Title-Ideas

Then, once we’ve chosen our 4 favorites, each subject line variation is sent to 10% of our subscriber list (40% total).

After ActiveCampaign determines the winner...

A_B-Test-Title1

...the rest of the 60% of our subscribers receive the newsletter with the winning headline.

WishPond also A/B tested their subject lines and discovered the following results.

  • Questions don’t tend to do as well in subject lines as statements which convert 26% better.
  • “Analyzed” language (“Holiday Facebook ads analyzed”) didn’t perform as well as “you can copy” language (“Holiday Facebook ads you can copy”) which converted 69% better.
  • Adding personalization elements (i.e., business name, recipient name, etc.) converted 16% better.
  • Simplicity actually converted a whopping 48% better than specificity (a bit of a surprise).

How Do I Execute to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Most email marketing services let you A/B test different subject lines pretty easily.

It’s just a matter of committing to doing so with each and every email.

So make A/B testing just another part of your processes.

And protip: document the results of each of your A/B tests.

That way, you can use the insights from each to help you create even better subject lines in the future.

Strategy #14 to Grow Traffic: Get Other Thought Leaders to Guest Post on Your Website Too!

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Now, this one is worth distinguishing from strategy #11 on guest posting.

Because while you want to guest post on other sites to “hijack” their audience, you also want others to guest post on your site too.

Here’s why.

First, it’s a great way to beef up your content numbers.

With enough regular guest postings, you can double or even triple your content production for the month, leading to more visitors landing on your site and checking out what it is you’re selling.

But there’s more to it than that.

Because when you bring in high-authority guest posters (think Neil Patel, Mark Schaefer, Rand Fishkin), you’re making your own business look all the more credible.

Plus, they may even link back to your site on their own blog (more free traffic!).

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Same as with strategy #11, it’s all about reaching out to the right people in the right way.

But when it comes to soliciting high-authority guest posts, you’re going to need quite a bit of pull in the industry.

That’s why this strategy falls under the “expert” category—you’ve got to have the clout to make thought leaders see why posting for you is worth their time.

Strategy #15 to Grow Traffic: Treat Your Blog Articles Like Landing Pages to Grow Your Email List (i.e., Link to Lead Magnets, Newsletter Opt-in Opportunities)

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Every page of your website should be dedicated to getting your audience to perform a certain action.

Whether it’s to opt in to your newsletter, head over to your pricing page, or reach out for a consultation, you need to incorporate clickable and enticing CTAs everywhere you can.

The trick is using the right kind of CTAs.

For instance, blogger Nikki McGonical found that she brought in literally thousands of new subscribers just by adding a lightbox and a sidebar CTA.

Check them out below.

Nikki-Side-Bar

Source

Nikki-Lightbox

Source

However, one of the most interesting things that she learned was that the lightbox was 1,375% more successful than the sidebar with a subscription rate of 5.5% compared to just 0.4%

In any case, she was able to bring in thousands of new subscribers because of these 2 assets.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Simple: add pop-up lightboxes and sidebars to your blog.

You can also vary up your offerings with each too.

For instance, your sidebar could contain a form for subscribing to your newsletter.

But you may want to advertise a lead magnet with your pop-up to try and up engagement even more.

Strategy #16 to Grow Traffic: Update & Rewrite Your Existing & Outdated Content

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Sometimes, the secret to getting more traffic is to redo your old content and clean house a bit.

For instance, Codeless revamped their content and saw an impressive 281.05% increase in session duration and a 70% drop in post-promotion CPC.

Codeless

Source

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

The secret here is to find articles that are doing not great, but still okay.

For severely underperforming content, redoing them is a bit of a lost cause.

And in fact, keeping it around can actually be hurting your traffic (more on that in a sec).

So, pick out content that’s bringing in some visitors and focus on beefing those types of pieces up.

Strategy #17 to Grow Traffic: Delete Content that No One Is Visiting

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Going along with the last point, cleaning out your content can be a great way to boost your traffic.

And it all has to do with a little thing called “index bloat.”

This is basically the phenomenon of getting a lower overall site quality score from Google because you have lots of low-quality individual pages.

And if you take the time to delete underperforming pages instead of just keeping them around, you can see your organic traffic spike.

That’s exactly what happened with Goinflow

After they committed to pruning their content archive of bad articles, they saw some pretty impressive results.

Here are their numbers:

3 Months Before the Technical Fix

  • 6% decrease in organic traffic
  • 5% increase in organic revenue

3 Months After the Technical Fix

  • 22% increase in organic traffic
  • 7% increase in organic revenue

Before vs. After

  • 28% total difference in organic traffic
  • 2% total increase in organic revenue

Goinflow

Source

Impressive, no?

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

The reason this one is in the “expert” category is because it’s going to take some time.

But as you can see, committing that time to cleaning house can be well worth it.

We actually just implemented a push to delete underperforming pages not too long ago.

And my advice is to commit a certain amount of time to work on it each week—just like any of your other marketing efforts.

With enough persistence, you’ll be able to weed through those old pages and see an impressive boost in your overall traffic just like Goinflow.

Strategy #18 to Grow Traffic: Survey Your Audience—Then Create Content Resources that Solve Their Problems

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Collecting audience feedback is one of the best ways to grow your sales

The more in-tune you are with your customers, the better able you’ll be to market to them effectively.

It can also do wonders for boosting your organic traffic.

Take GrowthBadger, for example.

They used what they called the “double survey technique” to create ultra-informative and highly popular articles.

Survey 1 would be surveying an audience while survey 2 would be surveying the experts.

And only then would they finish the article with that new data in mind.

The results were impressive, to say the least.

This technique led to an organic traffic growth of 843%!

GrowthBadger

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

As with many of the strategies we’ve talked about today, the trick is incorporating regular surveying into your processes.

Reach out to your readership regularly (maybe once per month) to get their feedback on what you’re doing right, what you’re doing wrong, and what they’d like to see in the future.

Besides giving you invaluable tips on where you need to improve, these surveys can also give you a smorgasbord of new content ideas for upcoming articles.

Strategy #19 to Grow Traffic: Reach Out to Other Organizations for Thought Leadership Interviews

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

This one is super similar to strategy #11 about guest posting on other websites.

If you can, try to get other platforms to interview you for their site’s content.

And in fact, I do it all the time. Here are just a few to check out.

2020-09-08_20-31-33

Gower-Interview

My interview with real estate expert Adam Gower

And while I don’t have any specific numbers I can point to, I can tell you that every single time I was interviewed like this, our site saw a boost in traffic as a result.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Again, this is a bit tougher to do if you aren’t known as a thought leader in your field.

But if you are, then soliciting interviews likely won’t be that difficult.

Just reach out and ask if they’d be interested.

Simple!

But one thing you’ll want to be extra strategic about is which website to reach out to.

Be sure to find one where their audience is one that actually matches your target market.

Strategy #20 to Grow Traffic: Invest the Time into Video Creation (Seriously!)

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Video is king these days.

And in fact (as Hubspot points out), video is actually the preferred type of content these days.

Video-Marketing

Source

It can even make landing pages 80% more likely to convert when done correctly.

One of the best and most useful types of video content to make is the explainer video.

For example, Crazy Egg reached out to Demo Duck to create an eye-catching explainer video for their business.

Here’s a shot of the video below.

crazyegg

Source

The results were astounding.

Crazy Egg’s new explainer video actually increased their conversion rate by a whopping 64% and generated an additional $21,000 in revenue.

Not bad, huh?

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Explainer videos are a great start.

But they certainly aren’t the only options available.

Here are some more ideas on how to incorporate video into your content...

  • Post video interviews with thought leaders.
  • Use unboxing videos to show to potential customers.
  • Create product comparison videos.
  • Ask satisfied customers to create video testimonials.
  • Record tutorials for your products.

Strategy #21 to Grow Traffic: Consider the Use of Online Forums & Comment on Other Posts

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Forum

Source

This one tends to go under most marketers’ radars.

But in reality, posting regularly on online forums and in the comments section of articles can do wonders for positioning yourself as an authority (and boosting your traffic).

For example, Lars Lofgren of Quicksprout got 387 new visitors from posting regularly on Warrior Forums and 121 targeted visitors from another forum—all in a single month!

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Try to monitor the most popular forums in your field for opportunities for you to show you know what you’re talking about.

This one might take a bit longer since many forums have “rankings” for members.

And if you want maximum visibility, you’ve got to put in quite a bit of time into upping your ranking.

So my advice to you is to make commenting and posting a regular part of your week or even your day.

And most importantly, don’t be salesy in your comments.

People in online forums are particularly tuned in to whether or not they’re being sold to.

Instead, offer as much value as you can.

Strategy #22 to Grow Traffic: Develop a Wide Range of Lead Magnets

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

In order to bring in more visitors, it helps to cast a wide net.

And although you may have one lead magnet that’s getting you results, you’ll likely have to create a variety if you want to up your traffic.

For instance, at Growbo, we have all kinds of lead magnets to send out to prospects, including:

2020-09-08_20-49-51

As a result, we’ve seen our email list grow to well over 20K active subscribers.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

It might take quite a lot of time and effort but try to create different examples of lead magnets.

Videos, long-form articles, guides, ebooks—the trick is to try and hit every format you can.

Additionally, you may want to try converting current lead magnets into different formats too.

For example, you can create an audio file of someone reading a checklist or guide you created.

Strategy #23 to Grow Traffic: Start Your Very Own Podcast

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Podcasts are all the rage these days.

In fact, there are now more than 1 million podcasts out there with an astounding 30 million episodes!

So why not make your own?

Because doing so can give your traffic a serious boost.

For example, the Mosaic Company created a podcast targeting the farming community.

People ended up loving it so much that they actually surpassed their engagement goals by 379%!

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Starting your own podcast is simple.

But nailing all the finer points so that people actually want to listen… that’s a bit harder.

Strategy #24 to Grow Traffic: Work with Social Media Influencers

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Social media influencers are a treasure trove of potential traffic.

And many companies have started working with them to boost their brand visibility.

2020-09-08_20-59-06

Nike, for instance, partnered with the popular “What’s Inside” channel.

And this partnership paid off.

The video has been viewed over 6,916,674 million times, and has received 54,000 likes.

The Nike Trip videos playlist has had more than 50,000 views too.

But one of the most important points here is to find someone who aligns with your brand and has the right audience.

So be strategic about who you choose.

Strategy #25 to Grow Traffic: Develop Partnerships with Other (Non-Competing) Brands

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Brand partnerships can be a great way to merge two audiences together and attract more potential customers.

A picture-perfect example is Doritos’ Locos Tacos from Taco Bell.

Step one is to find a brand that you love that isn’t your competition.

From there, it’s just a matter of reaching out, establishing a relationship, and coming up with an idea.

For instance, if you’re a copywriter, you can partner with a designer and thus offer your clients a complete package that’s both written and designed.

Strategy #26 to Grow Traffic: Host Webinars (As Long As You Know What You’re Talking About)

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Webinars are especially powerful when it comes to conversions.

In fact, here are a few stats to show just how effective they can be.

  • 73% of B2B marketers say that webinars are actually their best way of generating high-quality leads.
  • 20% to 40% of webinar attendees end up turning into qualified leads.
  • 61% marketers have incorporated webinars into their content marketing strategy.

In fact, when we were hosting our own weekly webinars, we experienced conversion rates as high as 20-30%.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

It all starts with an idea.

What is your target audience interested in?

What kinds of questions do they have that you’re in a great position to answer?

And what can you authoritatively speak on for 30 to 45 minutes?

After that, it’s just about practice, practice, practice.

You’ll also want to incorporate a lot of visual elements to keep your audience’s attention.

And finally, don’t forget to actually market your webinar, perhaps with a webinar sales funnel.

To save even more time, you can even create a fully automated webinar too.

Strategy #27 to Grow Traffic: Interview Other Thought Leaders & Turn It Into Content

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

This tactic is one of my favorites because it gives me a chance to pick other thought leaders’ brains.

And we’ve done it before, quite a bit actually.

Here’s one of our most recent where I interviewed Chris Ronzio of Trainual.

Now, while I don’t have any hard numbers here, the benefits are similar to those of earlier strategies about guest posting.

When you feature experts on your website, you’re both boosting your own authority and tapping into their audience too.

And on top of all that, you’re also getting a relatively effortless piece of content to help fill out your content calendar.

What’s not to love?

Again, this one takes having a bit of authority behind you as well as a solid book of connections.

But in my experience, many business owners and entrepreneurs are more than happy to sit down for a chat about how they built their business.

So in reality, the hardest part of the process is really just asking in the first place.

Strategy #28 to Grow Traffic: Attend In-Person Events (When You Can…)

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

In the age of digital marketing, it’s easy to forget about the value of some good old-fashioned facetime.

In-person marketing is actually super helpful for building brand awareness and bringing in qualified leads.

Here are just a few stats to give you an idea about how attending in-person events can help your business too.

  • Nearly 1 out of 3 marketers (31%) report that event marketing is the single most effective marketing channel (Endless Events).
  • 4 out of 5 of businesses that are exceeding their marketing goals will increase their live event budgets next year (Endless Events).
  • Nearly 9 out of 10 C-Suite executives (87%) believe in the power of live events and plan on investing in them more in the future (Endless Events, 2018).
  • Almost 4 out of 5 US marketers (79%) generate sales using event marketing (Statista, 2018).

Find local events happening near you first.

Join your city’s Chamber of Commerce.

Sign up for speaking gigs at your community center.

Do anything to get your face out there.

Many times you can speak to an audience of 20 or 30 without having to pay anything at all

Then, consider investing in national events like the Content Marketing Institute’s Content Marketing World.

The more events you attend, the more contacts and potential leads you’ll create.

Strategy #29 to Grow Traffic: Ramp Up Your Content Production (More Frequent, More Varied, Higher Quality)

What Sort of Results Does It Get?

Last but certainly not least, ramp up your content production as soon as you can.

Content marketing is without a doubt one of the best marketing strategies in terms of ROI.

In fact, content marketing costs 62% less traditional advertising. Plus, it generates about 3 times as many leads according to Demand Metric.

And the more often you do it, the better the results will be.

For instance, Marketing Insider Group actually found a direct correlation between the amount of traffic websites will get with the number of posts they put out each month.

Check out the results below.

It seems clear, then, that investing more of your time into quality content production should be a major priority if you want to increase traffic.

How Do I Execute this Strategy to Increase My Website’s Traffic?

Here are a few tips to help you improve your content game.
